The Hagley Library recently presented a successful screening of three short films sponsored by the the American Rolling Mill

Between 1941 and 1945, over sixteen million Americans served in uniform during World War II. Many were young men leaving behind jobs, creating vacancies in a workforce during a time when the nation most desperately required workers.

At a recent conference, I attended a session on media identification and basic assessment. While most of this I already knew, it is always great to have a refresher, especially when I come across new media formats in our collections. 

Long before color television became a common thing, the majority of homes that did have television sets had black-and-white television.

When conserving an object there are an almost limitless number of goals you might have in mind. You might be prioritizing structural integrity, repair, or even aesthetics, but is it possible to work towards something more?
